Here are some practices by agencies and organisations which can offer inspiration to other child care practitioners around the world. We call them ‘promising’ practices rather than ‘best’ practices because they describe the type of ‘promising development’ these guidelines encourage. There are many different examples from around the world and we hope that they reflect the many kinds of promising practice that are taking place in alternative child care situations.
There are over 40 examples here for you to read or download and they are divided by region or by focus.
The examples were selected through an extensive consultation process. Inclusion does not represent an endorsement from the handbook authors as to their on-going quality.
